Yesterday I took SB to the park. It was a gorgeous day, but a front was moving in and the weather was about to change drastically. I wanted us to get some fresh air before being cooped up.

There were tons of kids there, and she had a great time. She makes friends wherever she goes. One little girl about her age bonded with her and they fast became best buds.

At one point they were swinging side by side, chatting as if they were old pals. I was sitting on a bench nearby and got the biggest smile from watching them.

I thought it was so cute I started to film a video. That's when I captured this 10-second gem...

At that point, I felt the need to interject.

I walked over and explained how families come in many different shapes and sizes. Some kids have two Mommies. Some have two Daddies. Some are like our family. Some only have one parent... Yada yada yada.

It was a talk I had assumed we would have at some point and was prepared for.

Then the girl announces she also has two Daddies. Now I'm the one going, "WHAT?!"

Turns out her parents are divorced and both have remarried. *face palm*

Of course that's what she meant. Duh! What did you think she meant?

Anywho, my 3yo daughter now knows there are many different types of families, and no matter what form they take, the most important thing is they love each other.

The end.
