SB spent the first year of her life basically bald. She had some fuzz on her head, but not much more than that.
She did not have her first haircut until she was 15 months old:
Since then her hair has grown rapidly. I had hoped to avoid bangs, but since she will not allow ANYTHING to be in her hair, I ended up giving in.
Now we are into the hot weather, and SB's hair is long enough that it needs to be pulled back or she sweats and her hair becomes greasy from sunscreen. She will not let me put it up.
Each night, she struggles with hubby and me after her bath as we attempt to dry and comb through her hair. It causes serious drama on a nightly basis. (And we have to wash it daily b/c she inherited hubby's greasy hair.)
So I made an appointment to take her to the kiddy salon today, and I'm seriously considering having it cut off. Hubby was reluctant at first; he wants his little girl to have long hair. But he's as tired as I am of the struggles.
I asked SB if she wanted her hair long or short, and she replied, "Wong!" Then I explained that she would have to let Mommy and Daddy comb through it, and pull it back or up when we played outside. To which she replied, "NO!"
Tune in next week to find out what happens. I honestly don't know which way it will go...
