The Magic Blog

I have discovered something amazing. This blog has magic powers. You see, every time I post about an issue we're having with our daughter, it miraculously resolves. Like when I wrote about the nonstop tantrums. They have all but stopped. Just like that. Or her sudden and strange silence. Essentially over. My daughter is still climbing on everything. So I guess the blog's powers are not perfect. But, I am far less frazzled by it now. And that is definitely something.
It is as if releasing my problems into the blogosphere affects miraculous change. I don't understand how it works, but I want to keep riding this wave. I'm going to see what other issues my enchanted blog can fix. Hmmm. What else would I like to see changed for the better? Well, that's a long list, but I'll start with a few small items:
  • While I have lost all the baby weight and 20+ additional pounds, my belly remains round, squishy and protruding (despite hours of Pilates)
  • I have aged about 10 years in the last 18 months
  • My hair is falling out (I'm talking handfuls here)
  • My breasts have never recovered from nursing
  • I am still looking for a literary agent to represent me and help get my book published
I'm not greedy, so I'll stop there for now. If my magic blog can resolve just one of the above problems, I'll be very happy. What about you? Imagine for a moment that your blog had magical properties. What would you want it to do for you?

  1. Fun post! I'd like my blog to resolve all my sleep issues. Really. That's all I'll ask for! :-)

  2. @Christine - Thanks! I figure a little fun is always in order for Friday. I can relate to the sleep issues. I get them BAD from time to time. Hate it. Sleep is essential. Safe travels home, and hope you have a great B-day celebration this weekend...

  4. If your magical blog delivers your solutions, will you pass them along to the masses?

I'd love the magical blog to make my spark of an idea perfect!

  5. @ Karla - I think everybody should go try it on their blog, and report back on the results. ;)

@ Julie - I'll be happy to share. Thanks for following!

  6. Well, I've written on my blog about my inability to focus and that hasn't resolved itself, so maybe my blog needs to borrow some of your blog's mojo :)

What I'd really like my blog to do is cook delicious & nutritious meals for DH and I and then cleanup after us. Oh, and it also has to absorb all the calories from the food before it's served to me.

  7. Wow, that's a neat trick. Maybe I'll try that on my own blog. Or maybe I'll just piggyback on yours, since I'm in the same boat w/ the boobs & the agent. :)

  8. @ Mungee's Ma - You are welcome to borrow the mojo, assuming I have enough to go around. I think that would be a pretty neat trick. ;)

@ Mom2Miles - Everyone told me about the boobs. I had no idea how bad it could actually be. LOL Didn't know you were looking for an agent, too. Best of luck! What do you write?

  9. Do you take requests? I'm wondering if you could write a post about my daughter trying to kill pets.

  10. @ bitethebedbugs - Yikes! Are we talking the usual suspects here (i.e. the goldfish from the school carnival that never last more than 24 hours)? Or is this a more serious problem?

  11. Post-baby belly pooch-fat is a hold over of estrogen filled fat which your body stored while nursing. Imagine mine after 3. ;)

  12. @ Kristina - Well there is reason 1001 to hate my hormones! LOL I currently weigh nearly 10 pounds less than I did on my wedding day, but my belly is much larger and flabbier. I don't look nearly as good as I did on that day. Oh well.

*snicker* If I could get rid of the squish around my mid section I think I would be in hog heaven! Although, I would take an agent over a flat stomach any day!

  14. While I too could use some help with the baby fat, after 8 years, I think I've given up hope. Maybe instead my magical blog could give me some more hours in the day to get things done. That would be awesome.

  15. @ Crazy - I will direct my magic blog to provide both of us with the agent of our dreams post haste. ;)

@ Koreen - Oh. man! Couldn't we all use more hours in the day? I'll see what my blog can do, but you will have to promise me you will spend that time writing. ;)

  16. While more hours in the would be great, I'm kind of more in need of better time management skills. I have been nurturing this idea for my book for what seems like ever, but I need to carve out more time for writing while still getting my kids to basketball camp and VBS on time. My time management skills seem to be on hiatus this summer, so if your magic blog can help me with that, I'd be forever grateful :)

  17. @ Some Suburban Mom - I think time management skills are something that you either have or learn. Not sure if my magic blog can help with that. :(
