Writers rock!

          And not just because they are Masters of Words. They rock because they support each other. The writing community is one of the best I have ever been a part of. Writers give of themselves in so many ways:

* They provide feedback (the helpful kind)
* They show you the ropes
* They promote your work
* They introduce you to others
* They cheer for you
* They commiserate with you
* They lead by example
* They laugh with you (and occasionally at you if you deserve it)

          Writers have no real reason to do all these things. Except that somewhere along the way, someone did it for them. They were once in your shoes, and benefited from another writer's experience and expertise. So they "pay it forward" by doing the same for you. I'm trying my best to soak it all up. You guys (and gals) rock! And you know who you are...

  1. Indeed! I loved Twitter before I found the writing community but now that I have found other writers on Twitter, it's been fantastic. It really is a fantastic and supportive community. Well said :-)

  2. I was on Facebook long before Twitter, and there are things I love about both. But I have connected with far more writers on the latter network, and it has been amazing.

  5. @ Tawna - except for the bra snappers.

    @ Tammy - Well I enjoy this sorority a whole lot better than I did the one I belonged to in college! ;)

  6. This is great, Elizabeth. There are great authors out there who have been where you are and provide insight into what you're doing. You used a great word: Community. It is exactly that. Thanks.

  7. @ Harley I think it is very unusual. I have not experienced it before, anyway.

  8. I love how Twitter has allowed me to find other folks who are so supportive of me and my passions. Such a community is VERY hard to find in the comedy world. And if this is a sorority, then it's one heck of an awesome Greek system!!
